31/8- Canterbury - more of this picturesque town , plus our guest house which is in walking distance of so much, and my room, which has been home for the last four days

31/8- Canterbury - the banks of the lovely Stour River- we went for a very pleasant riverside walk after lunch in a vegetarian restaurant recommended by our landlady

31/8- Canterbury, England - exploring the town, gardens and river. The stone wall and tower shown int he photo with Angela date back to 1380 - it's a very beautiful and old town - we'll be sorry to leave so soon.

Canterbury, England - today we visited the cathedral and gardens - majestic and very beautiful. Canterbury has the best pedestrianised shopping centre I have ever seen, and only about 100 meters from our guest house - plus it's huge!

28/8- Travelling through Belgium - very little to see as it was quite a wet day, and very flat farmland. Plus the white cliffs of Dover which were vivid white when the sun shone

22/8 - incredible views - Austria on one side of the road and Germany on the other , with Hitlers Eagles Nest on the opposite peak - also saw the hillside where the first scene of Sound of Music was filmed with Maria singing ' The Hills are Alive'

27/8- Volendam - a little fishing village on the outskirts of Amsterdam, plus some of the quaint houses we saw with a canal along the front - some had their own dinghies , and our photo stop near a traditional windmill.

27/8- Amsterdam - canals, lots of bikes, and spot the weird, bendy buildings. (today was quite wet and cool - first wet day of the tour)

26/8- Travelling from Germany to Amsterdam - beautiful hilly scenery until we entered Netherlands, plus our field stop - cabbages I think,, and families on bikes everywhere as we entered Amsterdam

26/8- Germany - quaint little village of Boppard - so beautifully maintained. There are castles and ruins of castles all along the banks of the Rhine. Also saw the Lorelei.
